Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Strainer
  • Teacup or mug

Ingredients

  • 1 medium fresh apple thinly sliced
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 black tea bag
  • 1 small cinnamon stick
  • 2 whole cloves
  • ¼ teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup
  • ½ teaspoon fresh lemon juice

Instructions

Step 1: Get Your Ingredients Ready

  • Start by washing your apple well and slicing it into thin pieces. Gather your water, spices, and a little lemon juice so everything is ready to go.

Step 2: Bring Flavours Together

  • Pour 2 cups of water into a small saucepan and bring it to a gentle boil. Toss in the apple slices, a cinnamon stick, a few cloves, and a pinch of cardamom. Turn the heat down and let it simmer for 5–7 minutes so the flavours really come out.

Step 3: Add The Tea

  • Drop a black tea bag into the simmering mixture and let it steep for 2–3 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea. Once it’s ready, take out the tea bag and strain the liquid into cups.

Step 4: Sweeten And Enjoy

  • Add a spoonful of honey or maple syrup and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. Stir well and serve your warm, fragrant apple tea.
