Turmeric Tea Recipe is a warm herbal beverage made by simmering turmeric with water, ginger, and spices. It has an earthy flavor and is often sweetened with honey. This golden cup tastes rich, lightly spiced, and naturally soothing, offering a delicious balance of earthy and sweet flavours. I decided to make this Turmeric Tea Recipe after watching traditional preparation methods inspired by Ayurveda practices from India.
1tspturmeric powder or 1-inch fresh turmeric rootfinely grated
½tspfreshly grated ginger
2cupswater
¼tspground cinnamon
1tbspfreshly squeezed lemon juice
1tsphoney or pure maple syrup
A small pinch of freshly ground black pepper
A splash of milk or ¼ tsp coconut oil/ghee
Instructions
Step 1: Gently Simmer The Spices
Pour water into a small saucepan and add turmeric, freshly grated ginger, cinnamon, and a pinch of black pepper. Bring it just to a light boil, and then lower the heat. Let everything simmer softly for 6–minutes so the flavours can fully blend.
Step 2: Strain And Add Your Extras
Remove the saucepan from the heat. If you used fresh turmeric or ginger root, strain the tea into your favourite cup. Stir in a squeeze of lemon juice and a little honey or maple syrup to taste. For a creamier finish, add a splash of milk or a small spoonful of coconut oil or ghee.
Step 3: Enjoy It Warm
Pour into mugs and drink while it’s still warm. If you like, dust a tiny pinch of cinnamon on top for a cozy aroma and extra flavor.
